Kilifi is a town on the coast of Kenya, north of Mombasa. The county is known for its Indian Ocean beaches and historical sites. We have uncovered the known and more venturesome and eco-conscious places to visit in Kilifi County.
1. Malindi
Malindi is a popular tourist attraction stop located 120 km Northeast of the town of Mombasa. It is one of the most sought-after places to visit in Kenya. There are several exciting things to do in Malindi. Places to visit include Gede Ruins, Kipepeo Market, Takwa Ruins, The Falconry Park, Bio Ken Snake Park, Vasco Da Gama Pillar, Portuguese Chapel, Malindi Marine National Park, Arabuko Sokoke National Park, and Mayungu Public Beach. Â
2. Watamu
It is one of the most popular places to visit in Kilifi. Watamu is a beautiful and peaceful village on the Kenya Coast, nestled between pristine beaches and lush tropical forests. It is known for its clean white sandy beaches, perfect for family holidays, romantic getaways, and wild coast adventures. Its also known for its crystal-clear waters that make it an excellent location for snorkeling and sea diving.Â
3. Kilifi Town
Famous for its pristine white sandy beaches and the ancient ruins of the Mnarani, Kilifi is home to exciting water activities, delicious cuisine, diverse wildlife, and of course, the warm-hearted natives of the Swahili people. Attractions include: Bofa Beach, Mnaranu Ruins, Golfing at Vipingo Ridge, Mnarani Snake Park, Kilifi Creek, and Snorkeling at Kuruwitu Conservancy.
4. Mambrui
Mambrui is a settlement in Kenya’s Coast Province, located east of Marikebuni along the Malindi-Garissa Road. It is a popular destination place well known for white sandy Che Shale Beach and its beautiful dunes with an ocean view, ideal for picnicking and site-seeing.
